Neil was born in Takoma Park, Maryland and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. Neil is the eldest child of 3 boys. Neil went to high school in Silver Spring and went to work for the Library of Congress right after graduation where he worked as an accounting clerk in the copyright office for 19 years. Neil met his wife Mary at the ice cream parlor while she was attending college in the D.C. area. Together, they raised 6 children. Neil felt a call to go into literature evangelism in 1977 and worked in the field for 22 years in various states like Pennsylvania, WV and Tennessee. In 1999, he joined Oklahoma Academy as the dietary director and worked there for 3 years. Coming to MMS in July 2002 was a homecoming of sorts for Neil. He is the dietary director of MMS.
